The Former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Sen.Simon Bako Lalong has advanced the award of contract for rural electrification projects across the four districts of Langtang South Local Government Area.
He disclosed that the intervention would underscores his commitment towards delivering critical infrastructure to serve constituent by ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.
However, the Former Governor stressed that the project is an ongoing efforts to connect more households, schools, and health facilities to the national grid, thereby improving livelihoods and stimulating local economic activity.
Lalong said, for the people of Tarok Land, this initiative represents more than an infrastructure milestone. It is a direct fulfillment of the mandate entrusted to me with a tangible demonstration of responsive leadership.
According to him, he is prioritizing power accessibility in rural communities, the project might reduce energy, poverty and support small businesses by and creating an enabling environment for education and healthcare delivery.
The Senator’s said the intervention would further reaffirms his long-standing dedication to the development of Plateau South and to policies that translate democratic ideals into practical benefits for citizens.
Beyond infrastructure, the electrification drive is a contribution to the progress of democracy and civic engagement in Langtang North.
Senator Lalong maintains that “giving back the mandate to the people” means investing in projects that empower communities and strengthen trust in governance.
“Through sustained sensitization and community involvement, the initiative also promotes collective ownership of public assets and encourages citizens to participate actively in nation-building”,he added.
The office of the Senator assures constituents that monitoring mechanisms will be put in place to guarantee quality delivery and long-term sustainability of the project.
