Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that he plans to retire from football within the next “two or three years,” although he has not yet determined the exact end date for his illustrious career. The 39-year-old forward, set to turn 40 on February 5, 2025, continues to perform at a high level with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia and remains an active member of the Portuguese national team.

In a recent interview with Portuguese channel NOW, Ronaldo suggested that his departure from international football could come unexpectedly. He emphasized that it will be a spontaneous decision, catching everyone by surprise, according to Marca.

Despite facing scrutiny following a goal-less UEFA Euros campaign, Ronaldo remains dedicated to his national team duties under coach Roberto Martinez. He expressed his intention to continue contributing to Portugal’s upcoming Nations League matches.

When asked about his future beyond playing, Ronaldo ruled out the possibility of becoming a coach. “At the moment, I’m not considering coaching any team. It doesn’t even cross my mind. I’ve never thought about it, and I don’t see my future going in that direction,” Ronaldo clarified.

Instead of pursuing a coaching career, Ronaldo hinted at exploring opportunities outside of football. He has been actively expanding his personal brand, including the recent launch of a YouTube Channel that gained over 16 million followers in just 24 hours.

“I envision myself doing other things beyond football, but only God knows what the future holds,” Ronaldo said, leaving fans intrigued about his plans for life after soccer.
