Adewale Akinremi, a member representing the Ibadan North Federal constituency in the House of Assembly, has expressed confidence in the prompt passage of the 2024 Appropriation Bill submitted by President Bola Tinubu. Akinremi praised the budget as “well-detailed and realistic” and assured that the National Assembly would collaborate with relevant government agencies to facilitate its speedy passage. He emphasized the inclusion of crucial areas such as security, job creation, economic stability, investment environment optimization, human capital development, poverty reduction, and social security in the budget.

Akinremi dismissed allegations that President Tinubu submitted an empty document during the budget presentation, stating that the analysis provided was detailed, marking a departure from recent practices. He clarified that a soft copy of the budget had been submitted earlier and was being printed in hard copies. Addressing criticism from the opposition, Akinremi stressed the importance of allowing due process and discouraging misinformation, noting that deliberate attempts to misinform the public were counterproductive. The lawmaker urged constructive criticism rather than actions that could create unnecessary tension in the political environment.
