    Rema, Asake, Tems, Ayra Starr get 2025 VMA nominations

    MTV most anticipated award show; the Video Music Award nominations have been released. It’s scheduled to be held September 1st, 2025.

    Among the nominated artists are Nigerians’ own; Asake, Burnaboy, Rema, Tems, and Wizkid among others. All of them except Burnaboy and Ayra Star are nominated for Best Afrobeats Category alongside SA Tyla and Ghanaian Molly.

    Burnaboy is nominated for Best Video for Change. Ayra Star is nominated for Best Push Performance for ‘Last Heartbreak Song’ featuring Giveon.

    Leading the overall nominations is Lady Gaga with 12 nominations, followed by Bruno Mars with 11 nominations and Kendrick Lamar third with 10 nominations.
