Philip Shaibu, who was recently reinstated as the Deputy Governor of Edo State, has officially resumed his duties and instructed his staff to return to work immediately.

In a video shared on X.com on Monday, Shaibu announced his return to office, stating, “In adherence to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, I announce my official resumption to the office. God Bless Edo State, God Bless Nigeria.”

During the address, Shaibu emphasized that any staff members who had not resumed work since his reinstatement should do so immediately or face consequences. He highlighted that the Federal High Court’s judgment, which reinstated him, confirmed that his office had never been vacant.

Shaibu also cautioned banks against conducting any transactions related to his office without his direct approval, warning that such actions would be considered illegal.

In other related developments, Shaibu expressed his sorrow over the recent killing of a police officer assigned to the Edo APC governorship candidate, which occurred upon his return to the state. He confirmed that suspects connected to the incident have been arrested.

Moreover, Shaibu mentioned that he has requested the governor’s approval to reinstate his aides but is still awaiting a response from the state governor.
