Rapper DDG is barred by court from Halle Bailey because to allegations of physical violence

    Published on

American singer and actress Halle Bailey has been granted a domestic violence restraining order against her former partner, rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., known professionally as DDG.

A Los Angeles judge issued the order on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, mandating that DDG stay at least 100 yards away from Bailey and prohibiting him from making any public statements about her or their son, Halo. The court also authorized Bailey to travel with their 18-month-old child to Italy, where she is scheduled to film for two months.

    Allegations of Abuse

The restraining order was granted amid serious allegations of abuse. In court documents, Bailey recounted a disturbing incident from January 2025, when DDG reportedly became violent during a custody exchange. She claimed the altercation began when she tried to discuss a visitation schedule while buckling their son into a car seat. According to Bailey, DDG grew aggressive and yelled, “Get out of my car, BITCH,” causing their son to cry.

Bailey provided video evidence of the confrontation, including footage of DDG damaging her ring camera and throwing her phone. She also submitted images to authorities showing a bruised arm and a chipped tooth, which she attributed to the altercation.

    Background

The couple reportedly ended their relationship in October 2024. Since then, tensions surrounding co-parenting and visitation arrangements have escalated, culminating in the recent legal intervention.

This latest development has drawn public attention not only due to the high-profile nature of both individuals—Bailey most recently starred as Ariel in *The Little Mermaid*—but also because of the growing scrutiny around domestic violence and child welfare in celebrity relationships.
