Contrary to earlier information, Raphael Varane, the Manchester United defender, has no plans to join the Saudi Professional League (SPL) in the current summer transfer window.

Initial reports had suggested that Varane might become the latest high-profile player to move from the Premier League to the Middle East for a lucrative deal.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the former French international has not been in contact with any Saudi clubs and has shown no inclination towards such a move.

Furthermore, Manchester United continues to consider the 30-year-old center-back a key player in their plans, with manager Erik ten Hag intending to build the team’s defensive strategies around him.

Varane, who previously played for Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga, joined Manchester United.
