    PSC Promotes 8,053 Senior Police Officers

    The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the promotion of 8,053 senior police officers to higher ranks within the force.

    ### Details of Promotions
    According to a statement from the PSC’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the promotions include:
    – 1,348 Superintendents of Police elevated to Chief Superintendent,
    – 876 Deputy Superintendents of Police promoted to Superintendent,
    – 5,829 Assistant Superintendents promoted to Deputy Superintendents.

    These promotions followed the recommendations of the PSC’s standing committee on police promotions, chaired by Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Taiwo Lakanu.

    ### Notable Officers Promoted
    Among the officers promoted are Anjuguri Manzah, DCO at Onne Port Division; Ihunwo Josephine, Zonal Public Relations Officer, Zone 13 Ukpo; and Matilda Umiah Ngbaronye, former Public Information Officer for the African Union Mission in Somalia. Other notable officers include Opara Angela Precious, Felix Ekpoudom, and Okebugwu Eggbath Chidozie.

    Additionally, officers such as Aminu Mohammed Abdulkadir, Martin William, and Omoarebun Iluobe were promoted to higher ranks, reflecting their contributions within the force.

    The PSC emphasized that these promotions are a recognition of the officers’ dedication and service to the police force
