In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has greenlit the rollout of the inaugural phase of the Consumer Credit Scheme in Nigeria. This pioneering program aims to extend credit facilities to employed individuals across the nation.
Announcing this milestone, Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s special adviser on media and publicity, issued a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.
The statement outlined the scheme’s phased implementation, commencing with civil servants before broadening its reach to encompass the wider populace.
Ngelale emphasized that employed Nigerians keen on availing themselves of consumer credit opportunities can register their interest via the portal credicorp.ng.
Interested parties are urged to act swiftly as the deadline for expressions of interest is set for May 15, 2024.
