PremiumTrust Bank has reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing athletes and fostering sports development in Nigeria with its sponsorship of the inaugural PremiumTrust Bank Abuja City International Half Marathon. The event underscores the bank’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community enrichment.
Emmanuel Efe Emefienim, the MD/CEO of PremiumTrust Bank, emphasized the bank’s role as the headline sponsor, pledging support for athletes to realize their potential. He stated, “At PremiumTrust Bank, we aim to create an enabling environment for athletes to showcase their talents globally. The Abuja City International Half Marathon provided a platform to foster community spirit, encourage youth engagement in competitive sports, and empower young athletes to excel.”

The event witnessed outstanding performances, with Shadrack Ngumbau of Kenya claiming the top spot in the 21km race and receiving a $5,000 prize. Francis James, a 17-year-old from Plateau State, emerged as the indigenous winner, securing $3,000 and N1 million. In the women’s category, Gaspore Atalena from South Sudan clinched victory and a $5,000 prize.
