The Police Service Commission has expressed its disapproval of multiple social media reports, particularly those claiming to have the scheduled date for training of shortlisted candidates.
The Commission on Monday issued a press release on the false information circulating on social media platforms regarding the 2022 Recruitment exercise. In addition, the Commission has strongly condemned the unauthorized use of its Spokesman’s name, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, in fictitious press statements aimed at deceiving unsuspecting Nigerians about the status of the recruitment exercise.
The Commission wants to make it clear that it has not issued any statements regarding the review of the list of successful candidates or the invitation of successful candidates to check their applications on a newly launched portal.
“It is important to note that the Commission has neither advised candidates to print any updated invitation slip nor instructed them to proceed to the Police Training Colleges. Furthermore, no official date has been announced for the commencement of the training program. The Monday, July 22nd, 2024 date circulating on social media is entirely false and the creation of impostors”.
The Commission urges all candidates to exercise patience and await its official statement on the recently concluded recruitment exercise. It is essential to rely only on information provided directly by the Commission to avoid falling victim to misinformation.
Moreover, the Commission sternly warns those individuals involved in spreading false information and impersonating its officials to desist from such activities. It emphasizes that anyone caught undermining the recruitment exercise will face legal consequences in accordance with the law.
Candidates and the general public are urged to disregard any information that does not come directly from the official channels of the Police Service Commission.
