    Police nab suspects allegedly linked to murder of Kwara student

    The Kwara State Police Command has arrested some people (names not disclosed) in connection with the murder of one Miss Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old student of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa.

    A statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, said her body was discovered at Aleniboro area in Ilorin by passersby.

    According to the statement, it was one Miss Blessing that disclosed that her roommate, Miss Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old student at Kwara State College of Health Technology, had been missing since August 9, 2024.

    Sadly, the statement said the body of Mojisola was later found on a refuse dump near Aleniboro area, Ilorin, prompting the immediate despatch of a team of detectives to the scene by the Command.

    “Upon arrival, the scene was carefully examined and photographed. During the initial investigation, traces of blood were found near the left ear of the deceased. The body was subsequently taken to the General Hospital in Ilorin, where a medical examination confirmed that she was dead. The body has since been deposited in the hospital morgue. The deceased was later identified as Miss Awesu Mojisola.

    “In light of these developments, the Kwara State Police Command has arrested suspects in connection with the case. Investigation is ongoing, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further discreet investigation,” the statement added.

    Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, has assures the public that all necessary steps are being taken to uncover the truth behind this incident and bring those responsible to justice.
