Piers Morgan writes in Igbo asking Nicki Minaj for an interview

    Published on

British media personality Piers Morgan has sparked conversation online after tweeting in Igbo language while responding to American rapper Nicki Minaj regarding her comments on the recent killings of Christians in Nigeria.

In a now-viral post, Morgan tweeted: “Ọ dị m ezigbo mkpa! Anyị nwere ike ime ajụjụ ọnụ?”

(Translation: “It is very important to me! Can we do an interview?”)

The message appeared as a quote response to Nicki Minaj’s earlier tweet, where she referenced Morgan while discussing U.S. involvement and growing concerns about violence against Christians in Nigeria.

Minaj had written: “And just like that, Piers has been given clearance to fly through Barb Airspace. The power of Nigeria. Naija Barbz, keep an eye on him…”

Morgan’s unexpected use of Igbo, one of Nigeria’s major languages, immediately drew reactions across social media, with many Nigerians expressing surprise and amusement.

The broadcaster’s tweet comes amid heightened international attention on reports of targeted attacks against Christian communities in parts of Nigeria, an issue that has recently gained traction among global public figures.
