Kakin Dawa village, a district in Gidan Goga, Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State, has been attacked by gunmen who are thought to be bandits.

It was discovered that more than fifty women and children had been kidnapped by the thugs.

A local resident said that the gunmen, armed with advanced weaponry, broke into the village at around 1:30 am on Sunday and proceeded from house to home.

The armed bandits had been attacking our community, so everyone fled. Later, we found out that over fifty of our women had been kidnapped,” he said.

He went on to say that married women and little girls were among the abducted victims.

In order to combat the terrorists, he urged the federal government and the Zamfara State administration to send more military and security forces to the axis.

As of the time this story was filed, however, attempts to obtain ASP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the State police command, had not been successful.
