Nnamdi Kanu, through his legal team led by Prof. Mike Ozekhome, filed a suit seeking an order of mandamus to compel the security agency to grant him unrestricted access to his private physicians. In response, the court ruled in favor of Kanu, affirming his right to access his medical records without interference from the Department of State Services (DSS).

The court also directed that Kanu’s medical examination, conducted outside the DSS facility, should be overseen by his team of medical doctors, with the resulting reports sealed for security purposes.

Justice Nyako, while delivering the ruling, stated that the application succeeded and was granted in favor of Nnamdi Kanu.

This legal victory grants Kanu the right to seek medical attention from his preferred physicians and ensures his medical records remain confidential and secure during the process.
