The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a warning regarding haziness and cloudiness expected across the country from Monday through Wednesday.

NiMet cautioned individuals, particularly those with respiratory ailments, to be mindful of the weather conditions and consider wearing masks.

According to NiMet’s weather outlook released in Abuja on Sunday, moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility ranging from 2km to 5km is forecasted over northern and north-central states, except for Benue, Kogi, and Kwara where patches of cloud amidst the haze are expected. Additionally, patches of clouds are anticipated over the inland areas of the South during the forecast period.

In terms of specifics, NiMet stated that on Tuesday, moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility ranging from 2km to 5km is expected over the northern and north-central regions, with exceptions in Kwara, Benue, and Kogi where patches of clouds within the hazy atmosphere are forecasted.

Furthermore, the agency predicted the possibility of isolated thunderstorms over certain states during the afternoon and evening hours.

NiMet emphasized the importance of wearing face masks for individuals with respiratory issues as a precautionary measure during these weather conditions.
