    Nigerian Army Honors Late Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa

    The Nigerian Army (NA) held a solemn ceremony on Thursday, October 10, 2024, to bid farewell to the late Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa, the Director of Legal Services, at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.

    The event was attended by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, along with senior officers, colleagues, family members, and friends, all gathering to honor the late general’s remarkable service and dedication.

    In his tribute, General Lagbaja highlighted Major General Musa’s invaluable contributions to the military legal system, stating that his commitment to duty would forever be etched in the institutional fabric of the NA.

    During the funeral service at the All Saints Military Protestant Church in Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja, Major General Ohwohigho Akpor, Chief of Administration (Army), praised Major General Musa as brilliant, diligent, and resourceful. He noted Musa’s extensive experience and ability to impart knowledge with high moral standards. General Akpor commended the late officer’s dedication to national service and his significant role in training personnel within the Directorate of Army Legal Services.

    The burial ceremony featured the presentation of the national flag to the deceased officer’s next of kin by Major General Abdulsalami Ibrahim, Chief of Policy and Plans (Army). The ceremony also included a 21-gun salute and the laying of wreaths in honor of the late general.

    Born on May 4, 1968, in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, Major General Seidu Inaboya Musa received a Direct Regular Commission as a member of the National Guard on September 25, 1993, and steadily rose to the rank of Major General. He served as the Director of Legal Services (Army) until his passing on September 23, 2024.

    The interment was attended by principal staff officers from the Defence and Army Headquarters, along with retired and serving senior military officers, including the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe (SAN), other distinguished legal professionals, family, friends, and well-wishers.
