Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has expressed concern over what he described as false security reports circulating on social media, warning that they could discourage potential investors from coming to the state.

The governor spoke at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi during a visit by executive members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area.

Idris said he had engaged international investors during foreign trips but alleged that some individuals from the state were spreading misinformation about Kebbi’s security situation.

According to him, such reports portray the state as unsafe and could undermine ongoing investment discussions.

The governor cited plans by Romanian and Chinese firms to establish a lithium processing facility and a cement factory in the state, projects he said could generate significant employment.

He also dismissed allegations that his administration was supporting bandit groups or facilitating the inflow of arms into the state, describing the claims as false.

Idris said his government has committed substantial resources to security and called on residents to avoid spreading
