Umar Yahuza, the State NDLEA commandant said the operation in led to the seizure of assorted illicit drugs including Cannabis sativa and other psychotropic substances

He disclosed that the Command also intercepted several shipments of hard drugs being transported through the state to other parts of the country.

“We will resist criminals’ attempts to use Kogi as a transit camp for their illegal businesses,” he declared.

He explained that, acting on credible intelligence, operatives conducted raids in the Elugu-Egugu forest of Olamaboro Local Council, where two suspects were arrested and over seven hectares of cannabis farms were destroyed.

“These successes were achieved with intelligence operations in line with the current leadership of the agency led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd),” he said.
