The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully airlifted relief materials donated by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, to victims of the recent flood disaster in Maiduguri, Borno State. The donation, made under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to provide immediate support to communities devastated by the September 10 floods.

Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, announced in a statement on Thursday that the relief supplies were transported from Abuja to Maiduguri on Wednesday using a NAF C-130 aircraft.

The materials, including food, clothing, sanitary essentials, and toys for children, were handed over to the state government by NAF officers, led by the Air Component Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, for distribution to affected communities.

This effort underscores NAF’s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance during natural disasters, as well as the collaboration between the First Lady’s office and NAF to alleviate the suffering of flood victims in Borno. NAF had previously conducted a medical outreach and provided food to over 2,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.

This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing support for flood victims and highlights the importance of collective efforts in disaster relief.
