My political detractors should see our work – Wike

    Published on

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, lambasted his political detractors for jumping from one political party to another since 1999.

Gloating over construction works in the FCT, Wike claimed that wherever his detractors were or are watching from, they would see President Bola Tinubu commissioning his projects everyday.

The minister said the achievements of the current government remained unprecedented and only those with eyes can see the effort and results of the current government.

“Let people hear. Let those who don’t have vision, let those who are politically expired, let those, since 1999 have belonged to over 10 political parties, see what we are doing. Let those who have eyes see what the FCT administration under president Bola Ahmed Tinubu are doing to transform the FCT.

“I thank God that today makes it the 5th day that the president has commissioned projects and thank God that wherever they are and whichever channels they want to watch, they will see Mr President commissioning projects everyday. Today is the 15th day of the entire project commissioning. Friday will make it the 16th day,” he said.

Wike said he had never supervised any project the way he supervised the Ushafa/War College Road, commending the contractor for a good job.

Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, commended Wike for transforming Abuja satellite towns, stating that the projects have opened the satellite towns to more economic opportunities.

“We are not just building roads, we are building capacity. We are creating jobs,” Shettima said.

The VP, who said the FCT Minister was dancing and performing, urged others in places of authority to take a cue from the FCT story by building a Nigerian of everyone is connected to.

The event was attended by three of the former G-5 governors – Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
