    Ministerial Nominee Slumps , Throws Senate into Confusion During Screening

    A ministerial nominee, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, slumped while being screened by the Senate on Wednesday, sparking frantic scenes in the Chamber.

    The nominee had spoken for several minutes during his screening before falling to the floor with several lawmakers rushing to his aid.

    He was the second nominee to be screened.
    Abbas ,who was nominated to replace Former Governor of Kaduna state ,Nasir El Rufai as Ministerial nominee from kaduna state slumped shortly after he read put his resume to the members ready for question or comments from the Senate.
    A senator from Kaduna state was already recognised by the Senate President, Godwill Akpabio when the incident happened.
    The confusion that enveloped the Senate Chamber as monitored on Arise Tv , led to Akpabio , shouting ‘ ” bring water,water,and sugar ,water,sugar,water,sugar call me Dr.Wale ” while Senator Abo rushed to give a helping hand.
    The Senate President, also asked that journalists should leave the chamber and all cametas br switched as senate will go into executive.
    It was clear whether paramedics were immediately available to help revive the Ministeribal nominee.
