Information Minister Mohammed Idris has declared that the Federal Government is committed to identifying and prosecuting the perpetrators responsible for the abduction of schoolchildren in Kaduna.

Speaking at an interactive session with media executives and practitioners in Kano on Wednesday, organized by the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Mr. Idris emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s directive to all security agencies to swiftly rescue the abducted children and reunite them with their families.

The minister urged journalists to refrain from glorifying the activities of kidnappers and bandits in national newspapers.

“Mr. President is deeply concerned that journalists often highlight the actions of kidnappers and bandits in national newspapers,” Mr. Idris stated.

The government’s determination to tackle kidnapping and ensure the safety of citizens, particularly schoolchildren, remains steadfast, with efforts focused on swift action and bringing the culprits to justice.
