The Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigerian (ALPSPN) has thanked the Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) for the donation of an 18-Seater bus to the association.

Prof. Emmanus Odikaeseme, the Chairman, ALPSPN, Delta State chapter gave the commendation on
Thursday shortly after unveiling the bus in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

Odikaeseme said that the gesture was a demonstration of the company’s unwavering commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (,CSR).

TSSNL is a private pipeline surveillance outfit owned by High Chief (Dr) Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, and engaged by the Federal Government to secure the nation’s oil and gas assets.

Odikaeseme noted that the nation’s crude oil production had increased tremendously since the coming onboard of the private pipeline surveillance outfit.

He, however, urged the management of the company to keep it up.

“We want to sincerely thanked the TSSNL for the donation. This gesture is laudable and a demonstration of its commitment to providing (CSR) to the needy.

“It is obvious that the nation’s crude oil production has increased tremendously since the coming onboard of the private pipeline surveillance outfit.

“We prayed that the Almighty God will continue to keep and help the company to carryout it’s responsibilities,” he said.

    Odikaeseme said that the ALPSPN
complement the roles of the government security agencies by
safeguarding private properties and business assets particularly at the grassroots level.

The security expert said that they also provide credible information on criminal activities to the relevant authorities for prompt action.

Odikaeseme expressed the concern that despite the association’s complementary roles, government security agents see them as threat to their careers.

“Our major challenge is the police and other government security agents. They do not see us as complementing their roles but rather as enemies trying to take over their jobs.

“We are helping them in closing security gap in the country, they can not be everywhere. Criminals should be off our roads and streets.

“Whenever we have information about vandalism or a plan to carry out crime, we report to the government security for prompt action,” he said.

Odikaeseme decried lack of encouragement by the government, noting that government security agents can not effectively covered every nooks and crannies of the country.

He added that government lacked the resources to provide enough manpower to guarantee the needed security in the country.

“The private security has been in the grassroot protecting private properties and business assets in the communities, and yet we are not recognised.

“Government should be able to recognise us because we are complementing the roles of the government security agencies.

“Government can not be at everywhere, it does not have the enough manpower to provide the needed security.

“It is on that basis, we provide a complementary roles by helping the government to eradicate crimes in the society,” he said.

On the security situation in Nigeria, Odikaeseme noted that
insecurity was a global phenomenon but blamed it’s prevalence in Nigeria on the insincerity of the successive administrations
