    Kwara Varsity promotes 8 academics to professorial cadre

    The Governing Council of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has approved the promotion of eight of its staff to the professorial cadre.

    The ratification, according to a statement by the Ag. Director, University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, was given at the 65th Regular Meeting of the Governing Council of the University which was held on the 16th and 17th of May, 2023.

    Two among the academics, the statement added, attained full professorship, while the other six were promoted to Associate Professorship.

    The newly promoted academics to professorship are Professor Imoloame O. Emmanuel with specialisation in Weed Science; and Professor Ngozi Bibiana Nwabufo, with specialisation in Commerce and Cooperative Studies.

    For the Associate Professors, they include Dr. Saeedat Bolajoko Aliyu with specialisation in African Literature; Dr. Reuben Kehinde Akano specialist in African Literature; and Dr. Olayinka Jelili Yusuf with specialisation in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology.

    The others are Dr. Adeniyi Ganiyu Adeogun, specialist in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Structures; Dr. Samson Olalekan Odeyemi, specialist in Structural Engineering; and the late Dr. Isa Yakub Ajeigbe who specialised in Human Kinetics.

    It will be recalled that Dr. Ajeigbe passed away in his sleep on April 24, 2023.
