The three policemen arrested and detained for the alleged murder of the Kwara State Polytechnic student, Abdulqoyyum Abdulyekeen Ishola, have reportedly been dismissed from the police force.

It would be recalled that the three officers were later whisked to Abuja from Ilorin on the order of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for discreet investigation into the case.

Late Abdulqoyyum Abdulyekeen Ishola was allegedly shot dead on September 4, 2024 by three policemen in GRA area of Ilorin metropolis.

The management and students union government of the polytechnic had called for justice for the murder of the late student.

The state police Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, also vowed to dig into the matter with a view to ensuring justice for the family of the late student and the community.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Kwara State police command, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, said: “I am yet to get the information to that effect on the dismissal of the three police operatives.”
