The Alumni of Government High School (GHS), Ilorin, Kwara State, have been urged to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the Proprietor of the School, the late Alhaji AGF AbdulRazaq (SAN), by investing in educational development.

It would be recalled that the late

The Senior Adviser/Counselor added that investment in education and human capital development engenders the growth of the society.

“The investment you make in education sector is the only guarantee that can immortalise your footprints on mankind,” Salahu said.

“I want to commend the old students for sustaining the legacy of the late AGF AbdulRazaq who deemed it fit to invest in education.

“Today, after 57 years of establishment, the school has produced an endless list of scholars, professors, justices, politicians, engineers and medical experts.

“I will also urge the old students to continue to give back to the school that laid their foundation to greatness.”

Salahu also commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his huge investment in education sector in the last five years.

He said the AbdulRazaq’s administration has recruited more than 5,000 teachers and provided ICT capacity building for teaching in the State, adding that more than 600 schools have been built and renovated under the leadership of Governor AbdulRazaq.

“We never had it so smooth in our education sector in Kwara before now. We are witnessing a significant turn around in the education sector. Kwara students are now competing and winning awards on global stage. It shows the investment are now yielding result,” he said.

He counselled the students of the school to shun thuggery, fraud and focus on their studies in order to become great in life.
