The Kogi state Chapter of the Social Democratic Party SDP, has surrendered it political structure to Gov. Yahaya Bello.

The Party also endorsed the candidature of Abubarkar Ohere as the Kogi Central Senatorial flagbearer of the All Progressive Congress,APC who vowed to deliver all the votes garnered in 2019 for Natasha Akpoti when she contested as the Party’s Senatorial Candidate.

There made the bow members of SDP paid a visit to the Candidate of the APC, Engr. Abubakar Ohere on Monday in Okene where they passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Gov. Yahaya Bello.

The SDP vowed to use it’s network and structure as it did in 2019 to work for the APC, pointing out that they were behind the huge success of the SDP in the area during the last general election in 2019.

The SDP members promised to generate the same vote it garnered for the SDP in 2019 for the APC, pointing out that it’s structure is still intact as it didn’t move with the PDP Senatorial District Candidate.

The SDP appreciated Gov. Bello for all his efforts, praised him for the infrastructure development of Kogi Central, as well as the contributions of Engr Ohere to the development, pointing out that it will repeat same feat for the APC in 2023.

The SDP said with all Gov. Bello has done in Kogi Central and the capability shown by Engr Ohere, the Party has no choice but to surrender it structure to Gov. Bello and to work for all the APC candidates in Kogi Central.

According to the SDP spokesman, Zuberu Ibrahim, “we refused to move to the PDP, pointing having seen where the State was before the advent of the PDP, it will be suicidal to return to the PDP and her vomit.”

He described APC as a party that means well for the Senatorial District adding that if they cannot make progress, a forward movement that would help the people of the Central, it was better to maintain their stand with the APC rather than to go back to the vomit of the PDP.

The SDP said the Party has unanimously endorsed, accommodate and embraced Gov. Bello and all the APC candidates in the forthcoming February General Election in Kogi Central.

The SDP delegation that was in attendance to pass confidence vote on Gov. Bello as well embrace the APC candidates in the Central include the Zonal Chairman, all the Local Government Chairmen, twelve Chairmen,twenty two Women Leaders and twenty three Elders of the Party.

The names of some of the delegation are Zubair Ibrahim – Zonal Chairman, Abdullahi Shaibu, Siyaka Abdulaziz, Jatto Martins, Isah Mohammed and Sanni Musa amongst others.
