    Kogi APC special Congress ratifies Ododo as governoship candidate

    The candidature of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Ahmed Usman Ododo as it’s governorship candidate has been ratified by a special Congress of the party.

    The special Congress presided over by the chairman,APC primary Election committee , Zamfara state governo Bello Matawale was held Saturday at Muhammadu Buhari Civic center in Lokoja, the state capital.

    This follows the emergence of the former Auditor General of local government Alhaji Usman Ododo at the party’s governorship direct primaries held across all the 239 wards of the state.

    Announcing the results for ratification,the secretary to the committee who represented governor Matawale, Patrick Obahiagbon said “after carefully conducted primaries devoid of rancour and with no violence recorded anywhere in the state and having scored 78,704 votes, Alhaji Usman Ododo have been returned as the governorship candidate that will fly the party’s flag in the November 11 governorship Election in the state”

    In his acceptance speech,the newly elected candidate promised to continue to improve on the security template laid down by the incumbent Governor Alhaji Yayaha Bello

    ” Meaningful development can only be achieved in a atmosphere , that’s why security would form a major pillar of our administration when elected.

    Also speaking,the incumbent,Alhaji Yahaya Bello,said that he was sure that Ododo would not disappoint kogite adding that the crowd here today was a pointer to hi acceptability across the length and breadth of the state and across board without consideration for ethnic or religious bias.

    “Today’s event shows that there is no opposition in Kogi state,we are one big family,we have won everything winable in the state we won presidential election,we won the available 3 senatorial seats,6 out of 9 representatives members,and 23 out of 25 state assembly members. This is a pass marks by any standard” Bello added.
