    Kidnapped Kogi journalists wife, daughters, others regain freedom

    The family of Kogi journalist, Mohammed Bashir and nine others kidnapped while on holiday with family two weeks ago in a Kaduna suburb have regained their freedom.

    This was confirmed on Saturday by The New Telegraph newspaper Mohammed Bashir in a statement posted on the Correspondent group Whatsapp platform

    Although,no details was made available as to how they were freed, or whether any ransom was paid, an elated Mohammed Bashir appreciated colleagues for their prayers and support throughout the ordeal.

    “My dear Colleagues I wish to thank you all for your prayers and concern, my family and other family members kidnapped three weeks ago in Kaduna have finally been released, I am most grateful for your show of Love, i pray such will never happen to any of us, our family and relations, thank you once again.”Bashir wrote.

    Punch online reports that Bashirs wife, Aminat Shana his two daughters , Aisha and Hajara who arrived Kaduna penultimate Thursday on vacation with her family were kidnapped alongside her family members and whisked away to an unknown destination.

    Other members of the family who have also regained their freedom according to him include;Aisha Saba Khadija, Haruna , Adamu Haruna, Muhammad Abubakar,Asmau Abubakar,Usman Abubakar,Muhammad Abubakar and Hauwa Muhammad.
