Kenneth Okonkwo: APC using every method to scatter opposition, But ADC will form Nigeria’s next government

    Published on

National Ex-Officio of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Working Committee, Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared that the ADC is set to form the next government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, accusing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of employing intimidation and disruption tactics against opposition parties.

Speaking passionately about the party’s growing strength, Okonkwo described the ADC as “on fire,” noting that despite the ruling party’s alleged attempts to destabilise opposition activities across the country, the ADC remains focused and determined to win future elections.

“ADC is on fire. The only thing is that we have an APC that is using every method to intimidate and scatter the plans of the opposition,” Okonkwo said.

He alleged that ADC gatherings in Kaduna, Lagos, and Ekiti States were violently disrupted by thugs allegedly working under the supervision of security agencies. According to him, these actions directly violate the provisions of the Electoral Act, which mandates security agencies to provide equal protection to all political parties during rallies and meetings.

“In Kaduna State, ADC wanted to meet and they were scattered by thugs. In Lagos, when Rhodes-Vivour wanted to have a meeting of the ADC, they were scattered by thugs under the supervision of the security agency. In Ekiti State, APC again went in to scatter ADC when they were having their meeting,” he recounted.

Despite these challenges, Okonkwo expressed confidence that the ADC is well-positioned to take over governance from the APC, claiming that the ruling party is already facing internal collapse.

“ADC is going to form the next government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are strategizing and we are going to beat this APC. They are already imploding,” he asserted.

He further criticised what he described as the APC’s culture of “endorsements and sycophancy,” insisting that such political behaviour would ultimately lead to the party’s downfall.

“I made it clear that APC was going to implode because you will see all these endorsements, accumulation of sycophants. They will lose the election because it’s the people of Nigeria against APC. We are strategising and we will win,” he asserted.
