    JTF Commander solicits synergy, support from security agencies

    The Joint Task Force (JTF) deployed to protect oil infrastructure in the Niger Delta on Thursday sought enhanced support and collaboration from military formations in Bayelsa.

    Rear Admiral John, new Commander, JTF, South South , Operation DELTA SAFE (OPDS) made the call during familiarisation tour to security formations in Bayelsa.

    At the courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command Rear Admiral Samson Bura the OPDS Commander solicited further guidance and support from the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) against oil theft, pipeline vandalismand allied criminality the the Niger Delta.

    In his remarks, the FOC promised to sustain and improve existing support and collaboration between JTF and the Naval Command.

    He noted that the synergy will enable the country to have a free maritime domain for legitimate activities.

    Okeke also visited the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Mobility Command , Air Vice Marshall Tajudeen Yusuf and requested for the same support from the Command to the JTF.

    Similarly, the AOC expressed his readiness to continue to support JTF as the military is focused on the same aims and objectives for a safe environment to Nigerian to carry out their lawful activities.

    Okeke thanked the FOC and AOC for their supports and promised not to lower the guard as he remains poised to providing enabling environment for the seamless operations of both international and local oil companies and other legitimate stakeholders in the Niger Delta.

    On an opetational visit, to Nigerian Naval Ship SOROH ,Okeke was received by the Commander NNS SOROH Commodore Nanmar Lakan.

    The JTF Commander was briefed on the Ship operational activities in combating threat within its Area of Responsibility, achievements amongst others.

    Okeke commended the troops on their efforts which has led to the increased oil production and urged the troops not to relent on their efforts.

    He also warned the troops against sabotage and engagement in any illegal activities while discharging thier duties.

    He warned that stiff disciplinary actions await whoever is cut for such unprofessional conduct.

    The JTF Commander was accompanied by the Component Commanders and some Principal Staff Officers of OPDS.
