Israel kills top Hezbollah militant, frees four others

While releasing Lebanese inmates as a gesture of goodwill to the country’s new president, Israel announced on Tuesday that it had killed a senior Hezbollah fighter who was in charge of drones and missiles.

Israel has reportedly persisted in carrying out airstrikes in Lebanon despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, claiming that it is required to stop the Iran-backed militant organization from re-establishing a foothold or rearming along its northern border.

The head of Hezbollah’s aerial array in the Bader regional unit, Hassan Abbas Ezzedine, was killed earlier today when the IAF (air force) carried out a precision intelligence-based hit in the southern Lebanon region of Nabatieh, the IDF said in a statement.

The military added that it targeted multiple militants in the Froun area with a second strike on Tuesday.

It further stated that a number of terrorists were found at a Hezbollah-used location near Froun in southern Lebanon.

The official National News Agency of Lebanon reports that the Israeli strikes claimed the lives of two civilians.

According to the report, one person was killed by an enemy Israeli drone strike that targeted a car on the Deir El-Zahrani route.
