The Ijaw Youths Network (IYN) has issued a call to action, urging stakeholders in the Niger Delta region to rally behind Tantita Security Services Limited in their efforts to combat the theft of Nigeria’s valuable crude oil resources. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently extended the company’s contract for an additional three years, underscoring the importance of their mission.

Frank Ebikabo, the coordinator of IYN, and Federal Ebiaridor, the Secretary, jointly released a statement on Tuesday emphasizing that the award of a pivotal contract for safeguarding the nation’s pipelines, which are integral to the nation’s economy, should be driven by practicality rather than sentiment.

The IYN acknowledged the positive impact of the first phase of the contract, which resulted in the employment of 17,500 individuals actively engaged in the battle against oil theft. They applauded these achievements while calling on Tantita Security Services Limited to maximize the trust invested in them by the President and the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) by boosting crude oil production in the country.

The statement also called upon the sponsors of Tantita Security Services Limited to extend their goodwill to other stakeholders in the region. It emphasized the substantial responsibilities placed on the firm due to the immense trust vested in them by the President and the leaders of the petroleum sector.

In conclusion, the IYN encouraged Tantita Security Services to remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate the scourge of oil theft from the nation, highlighting the importance of their ongoing efforts.
