Ihunwo denies defection rumours, reaffirms loyalty to Fubara

The immediate past chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo has debunked rumours making the rounds on social media claiming he is planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a public disclaimer issued on Thursday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Dr. Amadi Eze, the report was described as “false, malicious, and entirely misleading,” urging members of the public to disregard it.

“Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo remains firmly committed to the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Siminalayi Fubara,” the statement read. “He stands solidly with the Governor in the ongoing efforts to deliver good governance to the people of Rivers State.”

The statement further clarified that Ambassador Ihunwo has not defected to any political party and has no intention of doing so. Instead, he remains “fully aligned with the vision, direction, and leadership of the Rivers State Governor,” with an unwavering sense of loyalty.

Dr. Eze noted that the rumour was yet another attempt to distract from the current administration’s strides in governance and development, and cautioned the public against falling for such political propaganda.

“We urge the public to ignore this falsehood and treat it as one of the many attempts to distract from the real issues of governance and progress in our dear state,” the statement concluded.
