*Urge remaining defectors from the party to return
By Olufemi Oni, Ilorin
The Forum of Elders and Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state has urged members of the party in the local government who defected to other parties in the wake of the 2022 party primaries to return and join them in the effort to reelect Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in the March 18 governorship and House of Assembly elections, while commending those who had since returned to the party to strengthen it.
Addressing journalists on Monday in Ilorin, the state capital, the spokesman of the Forum, Engr.
(Chief) Job Kolawole Buremoh, commended Governor AbdulRazaq for not disappointing them by his performance in office in the past three and half years, unlike what obtained in the years before he came on board.
The Forum spokesman said: “Governor AbdulRazaq has removed our shame and has made us very proud of being Kwarans and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State. He has obviously made himself a sellable candidate whom we can easily market for reelection for a second term in office. He has proved to the whole world that under his purposeful administration, it cannot be business as usual. He has adopted a concept of ‘the people first’ rather than the ‘chop I chop’ syndrome which was the case during the 16 years of the last administration in the State.
“Only the chronically biased and the politically blind will not see and appreciate the fact that his administration has positively touched the lives of the good people of Ifelodun Local Government Area and the whole State at large in virtually every area one can think of.
“We therefore commend the Governor and his running mate the Deputy Governor, our own Kayode Alabi to all well meaning Kwarans to please repay good for good and vote massively on 18th March, 2023 to return them for a well deserved second term in office. This will enable them complete the good works they have started and go on to do even more in the next four years.”
The Forum also expressed satisfaction with the performances of the two Kwara State of Assembly candidates, Honourable Owolabi Olatunde Rasak, presently Honourable Member representing Share/Oke Ode Constituency and Honourable AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho Salaudeen presently representing Omupo Constituency at the 9th Kwara State Assembly, adding that the two of them have performed creditably well over the past three and half years.
“They have both made names for themselves, thus qualifying as sellable candidates in their reelection bids. It is just natural to expect that the two of them be voted for massively, to continue the good works they are currently doing, and this we plead”, the Forum added.
Commending members of the party in the local government for their sterling performance at the February 25 presidential/national assembly elections, the Forum Leader urged them to buckle up with a view to bettering that performance in March 11 governorship and House of Assembly elections.
