I won’t turn my back on Daura after Buhari stood by me – Gov Radda

    Published on

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has assured the people of Daura Local Government that he will remain firmly committed to their welfare, saying he owes them enduring loyalty because of the support he received from former President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2023 elections.

Speaking in Daura on Wednesday during his ongoing tour of local government areas, Radda said Buhari’s influence and unwavering backing, combined with divine favour, played a pivotal role in his emergence as governor.

Radda, visibly moved by the massive crowd that welcomed him to the council secretariat, described Daura as “historic and the cradle of politics,” promising to uphold and strengthen the legacies of the former president.

“I swear, the hand of late President Muhammadu Buhari is in the victory of this seat I am occupying today,” he said. “He supported us, and Allah gave us victory. I will not abandon the people of Daura because of our father, late President Muhammadu Buhari.”

He added that the bond between his administration and the people of Daura would be built on respect, gratitude, and genuine affection.

Radda also highlighted ongoing development efforts in the area, announcing that his government had extended its urban renewal programme to Daura with the award of a N19.55 billion road project aimed at boosting economic activities.

The project, a 14.43-kilometre dualisation bypass is expected to ease traffic, open up the ancient city and support its long-term growth.
