“I truly apologize” VeryDarkMan expresses regret for wearing police suit

The Nigeria Police Force has received an apology from social critic Martins Otse, better known online as VeryDarkMan, for his recent films in which he was dressed in a police outfit.

The police had opened an investigation and denounced his unlawful usage of the uniform.

VeryDarkMan identified himself as a Chief Superintendent of Police, or CSP, of the Online Division while sporting a police uniform in the contentious video.

In response to the criticism, the social media critic apologized in a video posted on Thursday for wearing clothing that looked like the official police outfit.

In order to prevent miscommunications or legal issues, he also counseled Nigerians to obtain the appropriate permission before donning police uniforms.

“I returned from the police station after being questioned about the post I made while wearing a costume that the police claim is similar to theirs.

“I sincerely apologize to the Nigerian police force and the Inspector General of Police’s office for any impersonation I may have caused.

Additionally, before utilizing anything that might resemble a police uniform, the public should always get permission from the police or other law enforcement organizations.

Some people could want to use it for evil, but you might want to use it for good. Therefore, it’s wise to have complete consent before employing anything that could be interpreted as mimicking,” he stated.
