“I know how to respect my fans, myself, please”- Yemi Alade

Yemi Alade has sidestepped the idea of a collaboration with colleague Tiwa Savage, declaring she’d rather “stay clear” to avoid any potential “problems”.

The ‘Johnny’ hitmaker gave the response during a recent interview, where she was asked about the long-standing fan desire for the two powerhouse artistes to work together.

While Alade strongly affirmed her belief in women supporting women and highlighted her history of collaborating with other female artistes across Africa, her tone shifted when Savage’s name was mentioned.

“But I know that the fan-favourite collaboration is Tiwa Savage you mentioned. I’d rather stay clear; I don’t want problems in my life.

“There is no issue at all. The thing is, most fans and the media tend to stir waters that are supposed to be still. There is literally no problem.”

The Afropop vocalists had previously revealed that collaboration with Tiwa Savage might never happen due to the “troubles” from their fans.

In December 2018, the duo had engaged in a heated war of words.

Trouble started when Alade shaded other female entertainers who, according to her, love to deceive their fans by enlarging their buttocks in photos shared on social media.

Although she did not mention names, her tweet was shared hours after Tiwa had posted some of her curvy photos on Instagram.

In a swift reaction, Tiwa took to Instagram to share a post with the caption “don’t start a war you can’t finish”.

Recently, Alade opened up about her brief but intense struggle with smoking during her university days.
