The Member representing Jaba Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Henry Marah, has reiterated his dedication to people-centered representation following a landmark stakeholders engagement held in Kwoi.

The event, described as the first of its kind in Jaba Local Government, brought together community leaders, stakeholders, and residents to foster direct dialogue between the people and government. Hon. Marah emphasized that the initiative reflects his commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.

Speaking at the gathering, the lawmaker commended the leadership of Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, noting that the administration’s grassroots-focused policies have significantly contributed to development across the state.

Hon. Marah highlighted his legislative efforts, including support for a motion aimed at revitalizing the Kaduna State Water Board to improve access to clean and potable water. He described the mandate given to him by the people of Jaba during the 2023 elections as a “sacred trust,” pledging to continue delivering impactful representation through legislation and constituency projects.

The lawmaker outlined several completed and ongoing projects facilitated through his office. These include the construction of township roads in Kwoi, multiple classroom blocks across primary schools in Daddu, Fai, and Chori wards, as well as renovations and fencing of schools in Sabon Gari and Kurmin Kwara. He also disclosed that additional schools have been earmarked for construction and renovation in the 2026 state budget.

In a move to improve water access, Hon. Marah announced plans for solar-powered boreholes in Idar and Kare communities. He further revealed ongoing discussions with development partners to renovate Malam Maude Primary School in Kwoi, with a long-term plan to upgrade it into a School of Health Technology.

On employment, the lawmaker stated that his interventions have helped secure jobs for 22 indigenes of Jaba across various government agencies. He also cited rural electrification projects in Nkumdamgbu and Ngarkoni communities as part of efforts to boost economic activities.

Highlighting progress in the education sector, Hon. Marah noted the conversion of Samban Community Secondary School into a Government Secondary School, a move expected to improve access to quality education.

He also announced that the Nok–Chori road project has been approved in the 2026 budget following sustained advocacy, adding that the development of the Nok Museum will enhance tourism potential in the area.

The lawmaker praised the Executive Chairman of Jaba Local Government, Larai Sylvia Ishaku, for her role in promoting peace, security, and development within the council.

During the interactive session, representatives from all ten wards presented their community needs and commended the projects already executed. In response, Hon. Marah assured constituents that their concerns would receive prompt legislative attention, reaffirming his “Jaba First” agenda.

The event drew a large turnout of supporters and stakeholders, with chants expressing support for continued leadership at both state and national levels. Community leaders, in their goodwill messages, applauded the synergy between the legislative and executive arms of government, describing it as key to the progress recorded in Jaba.

The engagement concluded on a note of unity and renewed commitment to sustaining development efforts across the constituency
