In a defining moment for Nigeria’s comedy scene, popular Abuja-based comedian, Mr. Gbadamosi ThankGod Benard, widely known by his stage name Koboko Master, is set to make history as the first comedian to perform at the newly unveiled 5,000-capacity Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
The much-anticipated show, aptly titled “In Da Beginning,” is slated for June 15, 2025, and marks a major milestone not just for the comedian but for Nigeria’s entertainment industry at large.
Interestingly, the ultra-modern venue—which recently played host to billionaire businessman, Obi Cubana’s star-studded 50th birthday bash, was not the original location for Koboko Master’s show. Initially scheduled to hold at the Congress Hall, the event was relocated to the new facility to accommodate the overwhelming demand and growing buzz surrounding the performance.
For Koboko Master, this is yet another feather in his already well-decorated cap. Known for his unique delivery and infectious stage presence, he has consistently pulled sell-out crowds across Nigeria, cementing his place among the country’s comedic elite.
“Speaking to New National Star in an exclusive chat on Wednesday, the amiable comedian said all was set and Nigerians should get ready for the laugh of their lives.
“I’m always excited when my shows come up but this one is a bit different. This is because we’re making history together at the new Transcorp 5,000-seater event centre. I can assure you of laughter unlimited.
“Don’t just come alone, bring someone- your colleagues, friends, lovers, wives, everyone. Tickets sale are still ongoing and we promise you an unforgettable evening. We no dey waste time o, so come early. Sunday 15th June, 2025, 6pm is the date and time. Be there!” Koboko said.
The show will also feature a line-up of comedy heavyweights, including Acapella, De Stalker, Gordons, MC Edo Pikin, Arinze Baba, ATM, and several others who will bring the house down with rib-cracking performances.
According to the organisers, ticket sales have been nothing short of phenomenal, with major brands scrambling to partner and get visibility at what’s expected to be a landmark event in Abuja’s entertainment calendar.
In a heartfelt message, Koboko Master also expressed his appreciation to the management of Transcorp Hilton, thanking them for the opportunity to inaugurate the new facility with his show. He also praised the hotel’s unwavering support over the years.
With a career that began in earnest in 2017, Koboko Master has grown into a household name, curating and hosting multiple successful events, including the famed Comedy Bloodline, which he co-hosted with the spontaneous and widely loved MC Edo Pikin since 2022.
As anticipation builds, Abuja residents are being urged to turnout in large numbers to experience the laughter, energy, and world-class comedy in a fresh, state-of-the-art environment that promises both elegance and excitement.
So mark your calendars. June 15. Transcorp Hilton. History will be made, and the laughs will be loud.
