    High Altitude Athletics Club of Jos Aims for Dominance at 2023 ECOWAS Abuja International Marathon

    The High Altitude Athletics Club of Jos, a prominent athletics club in Nigeria, is gearing up to make a significant impact at the upcoming 2023 ECOWAS Abuja International Marathon by sending a contingent of 25 elite athletes.

    Steve Nuhu, the club’s coordinator, expressed enthusiasm about the ECOWAS race as an excellent platform for their athletes to showcase their talent. He confidently announced the club’s goal of dominating the podium, especially in the women’s category, citing the dedicated training efforts of the athletes.

    The marathon boasts attractive cash prizes, with the half marathon winner set to receive $10,000, the second-place finisher earning $5,000, and the third-place finisher taking home $4,000. The top 10 finishers will also be rewarded, with descending prize amounts.

    The winners of the 5km family and fun run are not left out, with cash prizes of $750 for the first-place finishers, $500 for the second-place finishers, $400 for the third-place finishers, and $200 for the fifth-place finishers.

    The announcement underscores the determination of the High Altitude Athletics Club of Jos to make a mark at the ECOWAS Abuja International Marathon, showcasing the talent and prowess of Nigerian athletes on the regional stage.
