Erling Haaland, the Norwegian sensation, has revealed that he actually enjoys it when his Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, raises his voice at him in front of the cameras.

Haaland’s revelation came after he was awarded the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year title, edging out football icons Lionel Messi and Kevin De Bruyne. This recognition followed closely on the heels of his Premier League Players’ Player award.

During the previous season, Haaland played a pivotal role in helping Manchester City achieve a European treble, contributing a remarkable 52 goals in 53 games. The Norwegian international has already netted three goals in as many Premier League games this season.

Even though Haaland was on the scoresheet twice during a recent match against Burnley, Guardiola still raised his voice at the young striker. When asked about the incident and who he finds more intimidating, Guardiola or his father Alf-Inge, Haaland responded, “Good question, sometimes Pep is a bit scary, I have to say. But my father can also be a bit scary. Anyway, this is something I like. I like it when Pep shouts at me because he tries to instill something in my mind that he believes I need. So I like it, I’m not complaining at all. He just wants to make me a better footballer, so I’m not complaining at all. My father and I, we argue a lot, we have a lot of good moments together, so I’m not complaining at all either.”

Haaland’s willingness to embrace Guardiola’s demanding coaching style underscores his commitment to continual improvement and his strong partnership with the Manchester City manager.
