Group condemns incessant killing of security operatives in Benue

A group, Concerned Benue Stakeholders Forum, (CBSF), has condemned the recent killing of four mobile police officers during an attack on Udei community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State by armed Fulani terrorists.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Makurdi, the convener of the group, Mr. Gabriel Onyilo, said that the wanton attack on security operatives in the state is taking a dangerous dimension.

He described the attack as “wicked and unconscionable.”

Onyilo expressed regret that the incessant killings of security operatives in the state had gone unchecked.

According to him, one wonders if the perpetrators of these evil acts are invisible and untraceable because these attacks have become never-ending.

He noted that suspected armed herders have become emboldened to carry out these attacks on security formations and civilian settlements, especially that nobody is brought to justice.

“Security agents must rise to the challenge of arresting these criminal elements masquerading as herders only to terrorise Benue state.

“We cannot fold our hands and watch these criminals take over our state.

“Something has to be done to stem this worrisome tide.”

Onyilo also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims as well as the Benue State Police Command.
