Yobe State Governor, Hon. (Dr) Mai Mala Buni, on Sunday, commended the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs and other matters, Alhaji Kabiru Masari, for supporting 1,000 people with a cash starter capital of N300,000 each to promote self-reliance and employment.
Buni in company of his Gombe, Katsina, and Kaduna state counterparts were in Malunfashi, Katsina State for the launch of the second phase of the empowerment programme by the Senior Special Assistant.
A statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, DG, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, described the empowerment programme as a gateway to economic prosperity for the beneficiaries, their families and communities.
Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governor’s Forum (NGF), Alh. Inuwa Yahaya, who spoke officially on behalf of the governors commended Masari for his commitment to improving the economy and lives of the people.
The statement added that the support is a good starter capital for the beneficiaries to commence small enterprises that can provide them with self-reliance with economic prosperity,” Yahaya said.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, described the empowerment programme as in tune with the renewed Hope Initiative of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
He commended the initiative by the Senior Special Assistant to the President through his concerted efforts of moving his people out of poverty, saying, “this is both commendable and worthy of emulation.”
According to the statement, the former Governor of Katsina State, Hon. Bello Aminu Masari, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support to improve their economic fortunes
Masari charged the beneficiaries to use the support for the intended purposes “for you to be self-reliant, grow and become employers of labour in the future”.
He assured continuous support to the people to provide them with hope and a future in line with the Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.
