Gov Eno’s leadership beyond party lines — APC chairman

    Published on

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, has praised Governor Umo Eno for his inclusive, people-centered governance style, describing his policies as development-driven and transcending party boundaries.

Ntukekpo made the remarks while speaking to newsmen upon returning from Bayelsa State, where he accompanied Governor Eno to witness the defection of Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri to the APC.

According to him, Governor Eno’s programmes prioritize the welfare of Akwa Ibom people above partisan interests.

“Governor Umo Eno, PhD, has shown maturity and a strong sense of purpose in his leadership. His policies clearly transcend party lines—what he’s doing is for Akwa Ibom, not for politics,” he said.

He lauded Eno’s social welfare programmes, including the payment of pension arrears and gratuities to retirees, housing initiatives for senior citizens, and youth empowerment schemes designed to curb unemployment and promote entrepreneurship.

“Good governance has no party colour,” Ntukekpo declared. “Governor Eno’s focus on agriculture, rural infrastructure, and investment promotion has opened up new opportunities for local businesses and investors.”

He urged politicians to emulate Eno’s model of leadership and put the state’s interest above party rivalry.

Commenting on the defection of Governor Diri to the APC, Ntukekpo commended Eno for anticipating the political shift, adding that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms and strong leadership have been pivotal in attracting new members to the ruling party.

He also hailed Senate President Godswill Akpabio for steering the APC with “firm, visionary, and inclusive leadership,” noting that Akpabio’s strategic coordination has strengthened the party’s dominance across the South-South and South-East regions.
