In an interview with Saturday Beats, the Nollywood actor expressed his belief in the enduring power of love, highlighting that he still cherishes the bond with his former wife. Durojaiye reflected on their long-standing friendship of 18 years, emphasizing that they were teenage lovers who eventually went their separate ways amicably when the marriage no longer worked. Despite the divorce, they share children and maintain a friendly relationship.

Durojaiye further revealed that, given the chance, he would have chosen to spend Valentine’s Day with his ex-wife, emphasizing the enduring friendship they share. However, work commitments might hinder his plans.

Offering advice, the actor cautioned against marrying based solely on religious traits, urging people to prioritize love over other considerations. He emphasized, “Never marry anybody for any other reason than for the fact that you love the person. Don’t marry because she is a church girl or because he is a mosque man. If you make the mistake of marrying the wrong person, eight times out of 10, that marriage will not work. Love is so important.”
