On Sunday night, an explosion rocked the Rivers State House of Assembly complex. According to reports, suspected arsonists hurled an explosive device into the complex at approximately 9:25 pm.
This incident occurred against the backdrop of rumors circulating about purported efforts by certain lawmakers to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
In response to the explosion, more than 17 security trucks and four Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) have been deployed at the facility. Additionally, over 50 Federal Security personnel have been mobilized to secure the complex. The situation remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the explosion.
