After an unsuccessful attempt to secure the services of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, Chelsea has turned its attention to Brennan Johnson of Nottingham Forest.

Despite having reached an agreement on personal terms and triggering a £35 million release clause for Olise, the player chose to commit to a fresh four-year contract with Palace, extending his stay beyond this summer and declining Chelsea’s offer.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea has now included Brennan Johnson in its list of potential recruits, and preliminary discussions about a potential deal are underway.

Nottingham Forest has placed a valuation of approximately £45 million on the Welsh forward. Reports suggest that Chelsea might propose a player exchange as part of the deal to bring the 22-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea is set to compete with fellow Premier League contenders Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, both of whom have shown interest in acquiring Johnson’s talents.
