Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, shared insights into his political journey, crediting his learning experiences with Governor Uba Sani for shaping his path to legislative representation.

In an interview titled ‘With Shuraim,’ hosted by Yaya Abba, Bello reflected on his decision to work as a legislative aide under Governor Sani during his tenure as a Senator in the 9th Senate. He recalled how the encouragement of two friends led him to accept the position despite initial skepticism about perceptions of “big men’s children.”

Acknowledging Governor Sani’s mentorship, Bello highlighted how the governor influenced his understanding of legislative politics, serving as a guiding figure throughout his journey.

Contrary to popular belief, Bello emphasized that his entry into the Green Chamber was not orchestrated by his father, Governor Nasir El-Rufai, as his father had never campaigned on his behalf.

Expressing his commitment to his constituents, Bello affirmed his sense of responsibility towards every individual in Kaduna North. He acknowledged the challenges posed by his online presence, recognizing the need to manage perceptions and differentiate between constructive criticism and unfounded hostility.

Bello recounted a poignant moment from his past public service involvement, reflecting on the loss of his sister in 2011 and confronting hurtful comments online, a sobering experience that underscores the importance of resilience and empathy in public life.
